Parameter Screen§
The parameter screen is your one place to adjust any and all types of parameter value in 2step, whether it is a channel value, cv mapping, or step customization. For details on how to navigate the parameter space in general, see the parameters section on the Screens overview.
On the parameter screen, one or more values is displayed as a bar. They can then be edited with the buttons or the knob.
Depending on the sequence length and step selection, the values can be laid out in a few different arrangements.
Sequence length§
Similar to the home screen, the parameter screen will display multiple values at once if the sequence length is shorter, one for each channel. If the sequence length is longer, the two columns of lights mirror the same single value, for the current channel. The buttons directly edit their corresponding bar. There are a couple of ways to choose a target for knob editing:
The knob is touch-sensitive, so you can access certain functions while holding it. For example, while you are holding the knob the pagelights tell you which of the visible channels you are editing. More about knob functions in the knob functions section below.
Step editing§
When editing particular steps, the selected steps are lit in orange. Depending on the arrangement of steps you have selected, you may see a few different layouts:
If you have selected only steps from one column, the layout will split and their assigned value will be shown in the other column. If steps have been selected from both columns, each column shows independently the assigned value of the steps in that same column.
This happens no matter how many channels are visible across the columns due to sequence length. The interface always works in the two physical columns in this way when laying out step assigned values.
If the selected steps have differing assigned values from each other, a dot plot of all unique selected values will be displayed instead of a single bar. Editing with a button snaps them together, while using the knob will shift them all around as a flock.
Values§
2step parameters come in a few flavors of number:
- Positive continuous values: durations, slew rates, slew curves, and chance. The bar displays as you'd expect.
- Bipolar continuous values, like voltages or cv mapping amounts. If the value is negative, the bar starts from the top instead of the usual (positive) bottom.
- Multiplicative factors for repeat decays (delay and voltage). These range from 0-2×. If the value is less than 1×, the bar starts from the top (decay). If the value is greater than 1×, the value starts from the bottom (growth).
- Discrete counts div and repeat count. You will see a single green light instead of a bar, indicating the count. Counts increase linearly at first up to 8, and then increase by powers of 2. Repeat count can be ∞.
- Step number target for jump. You will again see a single green light, indicating the targeted step.
To edit a value, use the buttons or the knob.
Voltages§
The buttons are carefully mapped to exact voltage values: the first button gives precisely 0 volts, the next 1 volt, all the way up through 7 volts. In this way, we ensure that 0 volts is readily and precisely available, at the loss of a button for 8 volts. Negative voltages span the same 0 through -7 volt mapping.

Knob functions§
By holding the knob, you can access some special features:
When multiple channels are visible you can hold the knob and press the or buttons to change its channel target. If you haven't changed the select target system setting, you can also press any button to target its channel.
By first touching the knob, then holding , you enter fine-tune mode. As long as you keep held, the knob will now edit in very fine resolution, enough to achieve millivolt precision. By tapping instead, you toggle into a zoom mode where you can use the knob to zoom the value bar window/range towards or away from its current value (coming in a future patch). Press again to exit.
Erasing and reverting values§
If you tap the button in the parameter screen, you will instantly revert all visible assignments to their value from whenever the screen was opened. (Navigating to the step select screen and back or changing the target parameter or CV will set a new revert point.)
If you hold the button, you will erase the assigned values. For base values, this reverts them to their system defaults. For CV mappings, this sets them to zero. For step customizations, this erases the customization, restoring the channel value. You can optionally hold or to target assignments in those columns, or a button to directly select a value to erase.
Other screens§
From here, you can toggle through the parameter space as described in the accessing parameters overview, or switch to the step select screen.
If you press a button besides the one you're seeing you can jump between parameters without losing your CV mapping or step selections. The active parameter will reset to the top-left pagelight option.
Remember, you can toggle into any screen by tapping the button that opens it, or hold it open for only as long you're on the button. This applies to the step select mode, so you can quickly change your step selection by holding .
