Home Screen§
From the home screen, you can navigate through channels and pages, turn steps on and off, generate patterns, perform with live looping and FX, and access all the other pages of 2step.
Navigating channels & pages§
In 2step, you can have sequence lengths of 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64. The chosen length affects the layout of channels and steps on the home screen and the very similar step select screen.
At lengths of 4 and 8, you'll see multiple channels at the same time distributed in the corners or columns, respectively. As you can see more than one channel at a time, more than one orange pagelight is lit.
At lengths above 16, each channel occupies more steps than visible at once. At these lengths, you will see a yellow light indicating the current subpage of steps within the channel (orange). Paging left and right navigates through subpages then channels.
It can be useful to jump directly between the same subpage on different channels, for instance when using two adjacent channels in close collaborations such as envelope and pitch. You can hold and turn the knob to flip back and forth in this case.
Arriving home§
Any time you arrive on the home screen from somewhere else, a small animation plays in the pagelights. In additioning to signaling that you have arrived home, it tells you your current channel and subpage. NOTE: UPDATE ME AFTER THE PATCH.
Creating and generating step patterns§
You can press any button on the home screen to turn that step on or off.
Because buttons can be the start of held-button combinations, the toggling occurs the moment the button is let go.
Any time you are looking at steps (this screen and the step select screen), you can turn the knob to generate a pattern.
Live looping & FX§
2step features live performance features available on the home screen.
To loop, you can set the start and end points independently. They can be the same step. Only when both points are set is the loop active. For more information on loop behavior, see the sequencing flow page.
Step repeat will lock the sequencer to your chosen step. Step blast does the same thing but also turns repeats up to ∞. Hold instead of a to lock the already-active step. See the Sequence FX page for more details.
Erasing values§
You can erase parameters from steps or whole channels from the home screen by holding . Channel settings are not erased.
